Contemporary illumination on black parchment
Autumn Wind is a creation on black parchment, dyed with iron gall ink, as in the Black Books of Hours of the late Middle Ages. The illumination is contemporary, for a change, but the techniques are the same as in medieval times. Black works fantastic with bright gold! This background creates optical illusions with colors. The price of the parchment is 16€ per person. It is dyed with iron gall ink and stretched on wood, ready to use.
Everyone gets a drawing of the motif, ready to transfer, as well as a color copy of the illumination.
Level: Open to all, beginners included. No previous knowledge of illumination is required.
